USDA National Organic Program
Organic is a labeling term that indicates that the food or other agricultural product has been produced through approved methods that integrate cultural, biological, and mechanical practices that foster cycling of resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity. Synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, irradiation, and genetic engineering may not be used. Organic West falls under the USDA Organic Dairy regulations and is under the strictest supervision to ensure full and complete compliance.
Food Safety
Food safety is a top concern for today’s consumers. That apprehension filters down to food manufacturers and ultimately to farmers.
At Organic West Milk, we share that concern and take active steps to ensure the safety and integrity of our organic milk supply.
From feed to storage to farm security, we focus efforts 365 days a year to provide fresh, wholesome organic milk to our dairy processor customers.
In addition to food safety, our Organic Certifications require us to manage issues of feed segregation, product custody and clear, auditable paper trails. These additional efforts positively influence food safety so that our members can guarantee safe, fresh, organic dairy products every day of the year.
Sustainability
We focus on sustainability in all our milk, powdered milk and cream processing operations and relationships with dairy producers.
